This is a solar cooker I made from an old medicine cabinet and some scrap lumber. It is a few years old so it is showing some wear.
The mirror is from the cabinet and so is the hinge, I had to off set it by screwing a 1x6 to the back of the box, the mirror prop is made from one of the shelf supports.
I made the box 1/2" larger on all sides so I could put a layer of isocyanate insulation in and also the bottom ( I think cardboard would work as well).
I also painted the inside of the cabinet flat black, the lid is just 4 boards with channels cut inside to slide 1/8" glass, it originally had two panes but it was windy one day and it blew over and broke, I replaced it with a single pane of Plexiglas and it seems to work just as well.
